With your help, we were able to meet the wishes of over 700+ foster youth. In total we collected over 5000 gifts! Thank you to our generous community who helped us achieve this great feat. You have delivered the greatest gifts of all to our foster youth: the knowledge that they are loved, valued and appreciated

About our Drive

The Holiday Gift Drive is Fostering Wishes’ signature program, designed to bring joy and warmth to foster children during the holiday season.

Each year, we collaborate with businesses and the community to provide gifts, ensuring every foster child receives something special just for them. But the gifts represent more than material items—they carry a message that these children are remembered, valued, and cared for, even in challenging times. The Holiday Gift Drive offers more than presents; it fosters hope, connection, and a sense of belonging, making the holidays brighter for hundreds of foster children each year.

How You Can Take Part

There are many ways to make a difference in the Holiday Gift Drive — whether by giving a gift or giving your time.

Volunteer Your Time: we need help with wrap-up! (>>sign up here)

  • Tree Preparation – Help fluff branches, check lights, and ready trees for display (early–mid November).

  • Tree Delivery – Drive trees from our Alamo headquarters to partner locations in Danville, Walnut Creek, and San Ramon (Mon–Wed before Thanksgiving).

  • Tree Installation – Set up and decorate trees at partner businesses to make them festive and welcoming (Mon–Wed before Thanksgiving).

  • Gift Sorting – Organize and track donations to make sure every child’s gift is accounted for (late November–mid December).

  • Gift Pick-Up – Collect gifts from partner locations and bring them back to Alamo headquarters

  • When and where should I return my gifts?

    • Please return your gift to the location from which you retrieved a tag, including gift cards

  • When are they due?

    • They are due by 12/20/25

  • Should I wrap my gift?

    • Please do not wrap my gift

  • How do I know my gift will get to the right child?

    • We work directly with Foster Agencies and match gifts directly with the wish gifts from the children
